Hello and welcome to Back
Porch Brewing website. We named our brewery after how we began. On the back porch! Yes, we started on our back porch.
Owners Rod Harman and Tim Wickard have been friends for
many years. Tim was a Miller Lite drinker and Rod had been
home brewing for years and kept pushing Tim to try craft beer.
So after months of trying, they finally decided to make a home brew
together. It was amazing and Tim was hooked.
After a few brews on the kitchen stove, they decided to
buy a small half barrel brew house and move their hobby to the back
porch. After they had a few beers on tap they had some friends
come over and try the brews. Everyone loved the beers and
encourage them to take their hobby and make it a career.
They started the process of getting
their brewery license
in the summer of 2019. They finally received approval
September of 2019. They immediately took samples to a couple
restaurants in town. The orders received quickly out grew their half barrel brewing
system. So right away they had to upgrade to one barrel tanks and
started brewing double batches.
Their license for the back porch location only allowed
for manufacturing so they could only sell beer wholesale to bars and
restaurants. Everything was going great and then Covid hit.
During Covid they found the building at 133 N Hanover
street and found it to be a perfect location for a store front. They new this would be
their new home for the brewery and restaurant. So
the next two and a half years they spent renovating the new space.
Today Back Porch Brewing has become a very popular
place. We host many different events like open mic nights,
trivia nights, live music and or Dj's every Friday and
Saturday night and some special event on Sundays. Check our
Events page for all listing.
We have a very large space and can accomidate large
gatherings. You can reserve our space for a special event you
have planned such as a wedding receptions, reunion etc. Just contact us
