Welcome to Back Porch Brewing, a locally owned restaurant and brewpub in the heart of Carlisle, PA. Our story began the same way many great craft breweries do — with a passion for brewing beer at home. What started as small batches brewed on a kitchen stove quickly grew into a 15-gallon brewing system moved out to the back porch for more space, better brewing, and good times shared with friends and family.

As our recipes improved and support from friends and family continued to grow, we realized this hobby had the potential to become something much bigger. In the fall of 2019, Back Porch Brewing officially became a licensed brewery. We began selling beer to local restaurants and soon upgraded to a one-barrel brewing system to keep up with demand.

After finding the perfect downtown Carlisle location and securing financing, our plans were temporarily delayed when COVID changed everything. Rather than giving up, we spent the next two and a half years transforming our space into the brewery and restaurant we had envisioned from the beginning. Back Porch Brewing officially opened its doors on February 3rd, 2023.

Today, Back Porch Brewing has become a popular gathering place in Carlisle, PA for great food, craft beer, and live entertainment. Alongside our rotating selection of house-brewed beer, we serve handcrafted burgers, wings, flatbread pizzas, sandwiches, and classic bar food favorites in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

We host weekly entertainment including Open Mic Nights, Trivia, Music Bingo, live music, DJs, and special events throughout the year. Whether you’re stopping in for dinner, meeting friends for drinks, or looking for nightlife and entertainment in Carlisle, there’s always something happening at Back Porch Brewing.
